RICHARD GROVE
Forensic Historian · Former Wall Street Whistleblower · Host of Grand Theft World · Founder of AUTONOMY
Helping People Think Clearly in an Age of Information Overload

From Wall Street to the University of Reason
Richard Grove's journey began far from the world of independent media. As a successful enterprise software executive living in New York City, he built a career solving complex business problems for major clients. That trajectory changed dramatically after witnessing the events of September 11th firsthand and later confronting illegal corporate activity that led him to become a whistleblower under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
What followed was a years-long effort to understand how institutions, incentives, media systems, and education shape public perception and individual behavior. Rather than simply documenting problems, Grove focused on developing solutions.
Over the past two decades he has produced documentaries, podcasts, educational programs, and research projects that connect history, psychology, economics, media literacy, and personal development into a coherent framework for understanding the modern world. He founded Tragedy and Hope, one of the most respected independent learning communities online, then the University of Reason, and in 2019 launched AUTONOMY — a breakthrough 12-week educational program helping individuals and families learn how to learn, think independently, set meaningful goals, and build lives rooted in freedom, responsibility, and competence.
